Rubidgea atrox

A monstrously huge gorgonopsid from out in the South African desert. This sucker was one of the earliest sabertoothed animals - it's canines were longer than a T. rex's fangs! At the moment the skin and flesh details are up for speculation. I gave it a wettish nose and protofuzz (I imagine it feeling like a "horse coat" Shar Pei, very coarse and bristly), but that could be wrong. I also tried to give it a fleshier, more mammal-like face than the usual skullface.


My poor old tablet is dying: this might be one of the last paintings I make with it.
